How it works
The shape of the photo is always kept. For big reductions the tool halves the size in steps before the last resize, which avoids the jagged, shimmering look a single large jump can give. Everything is done on the full-size photo.
Why it stays private
Your photo never leaves your browser and nothing is kept afterwards. The resized file is made from a canvas, so location, camera and other EXIF details are not carried over.
Questions
What does "Fit in box" mean?
The photo is scaled so it fits inside the width and height you give, without cropping. One side may end up smaller than the box.
Can I make a photo bigger?
Yes, untick "Never make it larger". Enlarging can't add detail, so it will look softer.
What size is good for email or the web?
A longest edge of 1600 to 2048 pixels looks sharp on most screens and keeps files small.
